One of the most important rules for using an oil lamp is to select a safe reliable fuel. Candil lamp oil is a safe fuel because it’s designed for indoor and outdoor oil lamps. It burns evenly and slowly without smoke.
When using oil lamps, it’s important to follow simple guidelines so you don’t accidentally start a fire or ignite an explosion.
Instructions of use:
- Remove the glass chimney and unscrew the burner from the lamp.
- Fill the font approximately ¾ full and screw the burner back on. Don’t overfill the oil font.
- Adjust the saturated wick (to about 1mm) until it is barely visible so the flame will stay low inside the chimney and to avoid the smoke.
Never use highly ignitable substances such as gasoline, alcohol, diesel fuel, mineral spirits in oil lamps.
